We chatted with Angela Ajayi who is a social media influencer and lifestyle influencer.

Tell me a little about yourself.

My full name is Ajayi Osahenoma Angela,

Age: 22 years

DOB: September 21

I’m a pharmacist, lifestyle vlogger on YouTube, social media influencer, and marketer.

Likes: I love to watch movies, listening to music, and having a good time. I just love to be happy and optimistic. I like to call myself the Queen of positivity

Dislikes: dishonesty, shouting, and anything that may put me in a negative state of mind.

Family status: I come from the family of 5

Marital status: single

What type of influencer are you?

I’m a social media influencer but more of music, skin, beauty, and lifestyle influencer.

How did you get to become an influencer? Was it intentional or you just went with the flow?

Basically, I didn’t even know I was an influencer, or that being a social media influencer was a thing. Before I became an influencer, I did online promotions for my friends that sell stuff. I wear them and take pics and tell people to order theirs too. Slowly I started getting lots of engagements and customers for them plus I had lots of contacts on WhatsApp then and I was still building my IG account.

Then I was on 5k gradually 6k then 8k now. It was when I was at an event for tourists that my friend told me “ah babe you are an influencer oh”. I was like “really?”. Then I decided to read about it to build my profile and be professional and then went with the flow.

What are your 3 favorite tools for doing something your audience cares about? What do you think your audience cares about most?

Well, basically my audience loves the fact that I am real and true to myself and craft. The fact that I interact with my followers you know comments replies, and reposts. I keep them updated on lots of engaging stuff. And you should check out my live videos I do the trivia question game night every Wednesday on IG. I get to see a lot of my followers and interact with them more.

So basically the tools would be:

  1. Being real and staying true to myself
  • I understand my followers and niche. I know what they like and want (people love videos of me doing my thing, talking, dancing, and asking questions and all that)
  • The fact that I know that Instagram is just an online community and I don’t take what happens there seriously. Like I mean the cyberbullying thingy and all the negativity.

I just spread love on my page as best as I can and interacting with my audience is another favorite tool.

Who is someone you admire, and why?

Uhm I admire myself permit me to say this. I admire my strength, my abilities to think, create these ideas I have, and the ability to put them to practice. I admire myself, my body, my soul, and what God saw in me and made me this beautiful.

Yes, I’m a work of art and I’m gradually understanding myself. If it’s a celebrity, I can’t really think of why I like them but a few will be Beyoncé, Kylie Jenner, and Sharon Ooja. I admire industrious people.

What are your three pet peeves?

I don’t like dogs.

I don’t like people that make others feel bad about themselves for no reason.

People that aren’t true to themselves.

What’s a typical day like for you?

Well, when I wake up I pray, start my day with good music and workout. Then I eat, bathe watch TV a little. That’s usually after my morning chores oh! Then I go to work because I work only in the afternoons and come back home at night. Then, I play music, eat, bathe, and sleep.

Music is a big part of me. I love to sing, dance (I try my best) and on weekends I hang out with my friends

Do you have any skills or talents that most people don’t know about? You mentioned singing. Anything else?

I can edit videos and pictures.

Basically, people send me their songs to give constructive criticism and also how to improve it and all.

So I can say I’m a music guru or engineer or something like that and not lots of persons know that about me.

If you could be anywhere other than here, right this minute, where would you be? (Don’t overthink it)

I will be in Spain (preferably Ibiza). I have heard so much and read so much about that place. It’s a place for fun. It’s magical chilling. Did I mention that I love to tour and visit new places?

It’s one of the reasons I started a YouTube channel to share with the world beautiful places.

What’s the name of your youtube channel?

Angela Ajayi

Flashback to when you were 10 years old. What did you want to be when you grow up?

I wanted to be a medical doctor and that was because I want to save lives and help people.

But you’re a pharmacist now. You’re still going to be able to do that. Just not in the front line. Are you happy with that?

Who told you we aren’t in the front line? (laughs). I love the fact I read pharmacy sef and I am a pharmacist.

I just assumed you wanted to be a surgeon and stuff. But we appreciate all of you regardless

Nah thanks.

How do you want people to remember you?

I want to be remembered as a great person that touched lives and made an impact.

Name three words that you think describe you best.

Strong, beautiful and smart

What do you want to make sure you do before you die?

That I die happy, able to achieve great things and ensure my family are fine without me (that’s my kids)

Which people or books have had the most influence on your growth and why?

Well, I don’t really read books sha. But I read a book once titled “attitude is everything” but can’t remember the author. The book was an eye-opener to a lot of things.

Read some books on Wattpad but not inspiring books more of love and romance.

What keeps you going when things get tough in your business?

I keep telling myself, “Everything happens for a reason”. If I have set my mind on doing something, I try to remain positive. However, if it turns sideways, I’m not disappointed.

I believe it’s meant to be but then I learn from it and move forward.

I have set my mind that things can either be good or tough and whichever way it turns out, I’m ready to accept it and keep moving on.

Wow. That’s really inspirational

(Laughs)

What would you do differently if you were starting all over again as an influencer?

What would I do differently? I don’t think I would do anything differently. I like how I started

What 3 things does anyone starting in your industry need to know?

Be yourself

Be consistent

Have your own thing like a name, have your own content or better still know your content what are you posting or what your page is about to be specific in general

What’s your motto?

Live your life and be happy (smiles) but remember to be grateful for everything you have.
