it's good to live intentionally

“Live intentionally”. These two words carry so much weight and impact, but unfortunately, a lot of people are living their lives in a mess. In a world of social media where people’s lives are completely redefined by false realities they see, it’s no wonder that the quality of lives reduce every day,

What does it mean to live intentionally? Living intentionally means living your life with a purpose. It means that you have a vision of where you want your life to be in the future, and you’re willing to make consistent efforts to get there.

Here are four ways to live intentionally every day that I will explain in detail:

  • Perform activities that bring you joy and satisfaction
  • Know your why
  • Be kind to yourself and others
  • Be careful of the media you consume

Let’s delve to the business of the day, shall we?

4 Ways to Live Intentionally Every Day

1.    Perform activities that will bring you joy and satisfaction

One of the easiest ways to live intentionally every day is to do something that brings you joy and satisfaction. It is a very simple thing to do, but unfortunately, it’s often overlooked because of how our world has been redefined.

In our society, we are pressured by false realities on social media to get our “grind” on, without considering our happiness. What makes you happy? What will you do that will impact people’s lives and leave you feeling content?

The truth is, not everyone will own million-dollar homes or drive luxury cars, so no one should pressurize you into entering businesses or deals that won’t bring you happiness. Some people’s paths lie in social impact and change or government positions, so you have to do something that will sit right with your conscience and desires.

2.    Know your why

This is related to the above point.

If you want to live intentionally, you have to know why. What is your why?

In his book Start with Why, Simon Sinek explained that a lot of brands and companies start with what instead of discovering their why. What can constitute your why?

The reason why you do things, why you’re passionate about a particular problem, why an issue bothers you so much, or why you want to create a particular feeling amongst people. It’s so important to note these things so that processes can evolve from there freely.

3.    Be kind to yourself and others

People underestimate the importance of kindness.

In our society filled with toxic masculinity and low self-esteem due to false realities on social media, a lot of people see kind persons as weak, stupid, gullible, or vulnerable. But it’s not supposed to be.

If you want to live intentionally, you must learn to show kindness to yourself. Learn to rest, take yourself out on dates, go to exciting places, treat yourself to good food, have solo parties, seek therapy if you have unhealed pain, etc. Only then can you transmit positive energy to someone else.

4.    Be careful of the media you consume

In our world today, it’s pretty obvious that you consume lots of media.

Be careful of whatever form of media you choose to consume. This not only pertains to social media but all forms of media.

Now, don’t get me wrong. It’s not bad to consume media. After all, it’s a great way to publicize brands, share stories, and inspire lots of people. But you should also remember that contents are produced by people with personal (and probably biased) thinking patterns based on their experiences.

You shouldn’t base your thought processes on that alone, or else you’d be negatively influenced.
